How Does Whole Body Cryotherapy Work?

During a cryotherapy session, your body constricts peripheral tissues, sending blood from the skin surface, muscle tissue and surrounding joints to the core to protect core temperature.

As the blood travels to the core, it follows the body’s natural filtration pathway and passes through the cardiovascular system where its cleansed of toxins and pumped full of oxygen, nutrients and enzymes.

The body continues to flush the tissue of toxins and circulate blood, continuing its normal flushing process and reaction to subzero temperatures.

You can get benefits from just one session of cryotherapy, but it’s most effective when used regularly. Some athletes use cryotherapy twice a day. Others will go daily for 10 days and then once a month afterwards.
